Volunteer for Rape Crisis Intervention Service!
The hotline volunteer is someone who can provide emotional and practical support to victims of sexual violence. Responsibilities include talking to hotline callers, accompaniments to police or hospital if needed, and follow-up. Volunteers assist with hotline coverage primarily in the evening, on weekends and holidays.
Requirements: Applicants must complete a free 10-hour training program provided by Rape Crisis, and pass a criminal background check. Continuing education and supervision are provided at hotline volunteer meetings and additional training opportunities. (Related experience or training cannot be substituted for training program.) Minimum age for hotline volunteers is 18 years of age.
Applicants must posses a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable insured motor vehicle.
